Roles and Responsibilities


Strategic Planning & Leadership:
● Understanding Customer Needs: conduct market research and analyze customer-data to understand
current and emerging customer needs. This helps identify target segments and tailor offerings
accordingly.
● Demand Forecasting: Pricing strategy development & forecasting reviews,
Commercial Planning & Performance management, identifying future market trends and developing
solutions/plans to lead future growth; Leading, coaching, and motivating the sales team to achieve and
exceed sales goals and customer satisfaction.


Sales & Distribution Planning:
● Channel Strategy: determines the most effective channels to reach target customers. This could involve
direct sales forces, partnerships with retailers, or online sales channels.
● Sales Targets & Incentives: set realistic and achievable sales targets for different channels and
collaborate with sales leaders to develop incentive programs to motivate sales teams to achieve them.
● Monitoring & Reporting: tracking and analyzing sales performance against targets is crucial. The
commercial planning unit creates reports to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies as
needed.


Overall Business Strategy Alignment:
● Financial Modeling: develop financial models to assess the profitability of new products, services, and
marketing campaigns. This helps ensure Telco’s commercial strategy aligns with overall business
objectives.
● Budget Allocation: The commercial planning unit allocates budgets for marketing campaigns, sales
activities, and product development based on market opportunities and projected returns.
● Regulatory Compliance: Staying updated on industry regulations and ensuring Telco’s commercial
practices comply with them is an important responsibility.


Revenue Forecasting & Budgeting:
● Own the revenue forecasting process, ensuring accurate and timely updates based on historical
performance and market trends.
● Collaborate with finance and senior management teams to prepare and review commercial budgets,
● Monitor the effectiveness of revenue plans and ensure corrective actions are taken when needed.


Support Product & Services Development:
● Product Portfolio Management: The commercial planning unit works with product development teams
to create new services or refine existing ones based on market needs and competitive landscaped.
● Pricing & Bundling: develop pricing strategies with the product owners to ensure product pricing are
competitive, profitable, and cater to different customer segments. This might involve creating bundled
packages with voice, date and other services.
● Collaborate with commercial leadership, new product planning, finance and business development to
define and assess opportunities and determine the overall fit and value.


Requirements


● Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent
advanced degree is preferred.
● Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in commercial performance management, sales operations, or
revenue management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
● Proven track record of driving revenue growth and optimizing sales performance within a large
organization.
● Strong experience in data analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting.
● Deep understanding of commercial operations, KPIs, and metrics to assess and drive business
performance.
● Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing senior leadership.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a deep understanding of business performance
metrics and data-driven decision-making.
● Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
● Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce,
HubSpot).
● Ability to think strategically while also focusing on operational execution.
● Leadership skills to manage and develop a high-performing team.
● Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly adapt to market and business changes.
